13 ways of looking at my guru. #3: The Manipura Chakra: The Fortress of Manu: God Appears

In celebration of Saint John's-tide

Manipura, the third chakra: the solar plexus

God appears, and God is light,
To those poor souls who dwell in night;
But does a human form display
To those who dwell in realms of day.
— William Blake

Manipura ("jewel city," from mani or "jewel" and pura or "city/fortress" [or "The Fortress of Manu" — Larry] — Situated at the navel and also called nabhi-chakra ("navel wheel"), this psychoenergetic center is associated with the fire element, the visual sense, the anus, the mantra ram [rama], and the ram (symbol of fiery energy)....
Manu ... is traditionally hailed as the progenitor of the present human race. [N.B.: John the Baptist is the reincarnation of Adam Cadmon (Manu). Today, June 24, is Saint John's-tide (see preceding post) — Larry]
— G. Feuerstein, The Yoga Tradition

"Ego and Sun are the inner and the outer aspects of the same being. What orbits out there through space as the Sun is the cosmic I. What lives within me is the human I."  —Rudolf Steiner

Not my will, but Thine, O Lord, be done, by me and through me.
